In his Business Development role, Jared learns and shares information about soil health, livestock forage options, carbon emissions, water and air quality and works with the sales team to explore new opportunities for growth.
“Millborn Seeds has long provided leadership and innovation for its customers looking to improve soil health, add forage options, develop wildlife and pollinator habitat, or broaden their crop rotation. Our diverse offering translates into options for landowners,” Jared said.
Jared has a deep background in agriculture. He is now a part-owner of the diversified livestock and crop farm that he grew up on near Willow Lake, SD. While earning his Animal Science degree from SDSU, Jared was a SD State FFA Officer, a member of both the Meats and Livestock Judging Teams, and studied abroad for a semester at China Ag University in Beijing, P. R. China. He has been heavily involved in the cattle genetics industry, with first hand experience in the beef seed stock business from Mississippi to Montana.
In 2011, Jared and his wife Kati moved back to South Dakota to start Dakota Vision Ag, Inc. which they continue to operate and became a Millborn Seeds local dealer right from the start. Keen to provide a wide array of options to farmers, Millborn Seeds was the perfect fit. “I am excited about conservation-minded agriculture,” Jared said. “My background has given me some great perspectives, and my passion for reading and learning should aide me in my role in Business Development.”
Jared and his wife Kati have three children, Millie, Ansley, and Alicyn. Together they enjoy traveling, reading, raising and exhibiting livestock, and working on projects on the farm.
“I am proud to see South Dakota based Millborn Seeds make such an impact on Agriculture across the nation,” Jared said.
