Product Guide

Planting

  • Planting Time: Late summer through fall
  • Full Mix Seeding Rate: 50 lbs/acre
  • Add-in Seeding Rate: 5 lbs/acre of add-ins  + 45 lbs/acre of your own rye
  • Ideal Seed Depth: Broadcast: 0″  |  Drilled: 3/4″

Fertility

Fertilizer is not needed unless you plan on using the rye as a feed crop the following spring. If that’s the case, consider applying 25-50 lbs/acre of Nitrogen to increase biomass yield.

Management

Aerial Application can start 2 weeks prior to defoliation and could continue up to harvest. If drilling post-harvest ensure there are three weeks left in the growing season for germination and growth. All species will survive the winter and start growing in the spring. Your burndown should include Glyphosate and a broadleaf herbicide if rotating back to a cash crop.

Multiple Regions

Every acre is different and our goal is to help you know what works best in your area. This 'Growing Regions' section showcases where this species works best. If you have any questions on product placement, feel free to contact our experts and we will help!
