Cover Crop Radish
Radish is a deep-rooted brassica species very commonly used as a cover crop. The taproot will penetrate deep in the soil profile to reduce compaction and the leaves and tuber supply nutritious forage to livestock or wildlife. Radishes are also excellent scavengers of excess soil nutrients helping to hold nutrient near the soil surface for the following cash crop to utilize.
